Survey: Europeans are increasingly refusing electric cars, but the main reason is not autonomy

A study by Shell, which follows every year the trends of the electric car market, reveals “a very high division” among drivers with the adoption of electric propulsion. On the one hand, those who already own an electric vehicle are increasingly confident and satisfied by the new technology, on the other side the drivers of combustion cars are less and less attracted to electric motors, and Europe begins to become more and more reluctant to this propulsion.
Over 15,000 drivers in Europe, US and China have answered the questions of the Shell Recharge Driver, the 2025 edition, which analyzes the direction in which the attitude of the drivers in these regions evolves.
This year's conclusions show a strong braking, especially in Europe, the interest in electric cars, from those who have not had the courage to move on to this type of propulsion, despite the fact that the owners of EV are increasingly satisfied and confident in their cars.
