On Monday morning, the meteorologists issued two orange and yellow code alerts for rain and sleet, significant in quantity, valid in several counties of the country, until tomorrow evening, January 27, at 8:00 p.m. At the same time, snow and blizzards are announced in the mountains, at high altitudes.

The orange code of quantitatively important precipitation, snow cover and blizzard above 1700 m targets the hilly and mountainous area of ​​Mehedinți, Gorj, Vâlcea, Argeş, Dâmbovița and Prahova counties.

Here, there will be precipitation in the form of rain and sleet, quantitatively important, which will favor the melting of the snow layer. Amounts of water of 60…80 l/m2 will accumulate.

At altitudes above 1700 m, snowfall will prevail and a layer of snow of 30…40 cm will be deposited, and the wind will show intensification, today and at night, with gusts of over 100 km/h, blizzarding the snow and reducing visibility below 50 m.

ANM has also issued a yellow code of heavy precipitation, valid until tomorrow at 20:00.

Thus, in the mentioned interval, there will be quantitatively significant precipitation in the form of rain in the south of Banat, in the northern half of Oltenia and Muntenia and mixed in the mountainous area of ​​Hunedoara, Alba, Sibiu, Brașov, Covasna and Vrancea counties favoring the melting of the snow layer. 30…40 l/m2 will accumulate and isolated over 50 l/m2.

ANM mentions that temporarily there will be generally low quantitative precipitation in the rest of the territory, in the form of rain, and in the mountain area, mixed. In limited areas there will be intensification of the wind with speeds of 40…45 km/h.

The orange and yellow precipitation codes are valid from January 26, 10:00 a.m. to January 27, 8:00 p.m.

What will the weather be like in Bucharest?

For the Capital, the ANM announces that on Monday the temperatures will rise and will be far above those specific to the period. The sky will be cloudy and it will rain moderately quantitatively (10…20 l/m2), and the wind will blow moderately (speeds of no more than 35…40 km/h). The maximum temperature will be 8…10 degrees, and the minimum 3…4 degrees.

On Tuesday, the temperatures will drop compared to the previous day, but they will remain above the usual ones for the period. The sky will be cloudy and it will temporarily rain lightly. The wind will blow weak and moderate. The maximum temperature will be around 6 degrees.
