According to the expert, during this period the so-called spring blues may occur – a state of depression, fatigue and decreased performance. This is a natural reaction of the body to restructuring. People with chronic diseases are especially sensitive to changes. Fluctuations in atmospheric pressure of even 10 mmHg can cause pressure surges, headaches, weakness and nausea.
There is no universal pill for weather dependence. The doctor advises not to wait for symptoms, but to undergo regular preventive examinations, monitor blood pressure and follow prescriptions. It is important to dress according to the weather, avoiding hypothermia or overheating.
The key way to support the body is physical activity. Even 30 minutes of walking a day improves blood flow and oxygenation. It is better to walk during daylight hours to normalize the production of serotonin and melatonin.
To stabilize biorhythms, Tokarev recommends going to bed and getting up at the same time. It is worth increasing the proportion of fresh vegetables, herbs, berries, whole grains and protein in your diet. Turkey, chicken, cottage cheese, as well as foods with omega-3 are useful: fatty fish, flaxseed oil and walnuts.
