The guy received a call in early February 2025 and introduced himself as a delivery courier. The teenager thought it might be a gift from his mother for a recent birthday, and dictated the code from the SMS.
Next, he was contacted by a false assistant of a mobile operator, and then by an “employee of the Ministry of Digital Development.” They convinced the guy that he had just given the code to the scammers and now the family's money was in danger. To save savings, they must be declared urgently. The student was ordered to examine the rooms and film everything. During this “search” he found his parents’ safe. The young man handed over all the contents to the courier.
“I was told that if I reported this to the police, my father and I would be sent to prison,” the teenager said.
The damage amounted to 10.5 million rubles. A criminal case has been opened for fraud.
