Farmers from Świętokrzyskie on the verge of bankruptcy. The reason for a bad type of parsley

– The difference is colossal. We have equipment, warehouses and contracts prepared for root parsley, not a dot. In addition, plant protection products used at Korzeniowa are prohibited at the Nacie – says farmer Dominik Czarny. Another of the injured, Aneta Żołna, adds: – The loss is about 60,000 PLN per hectare. With five hectares it is a huge amount. We are threatened with losing the tractor, stopping the investment, the bailiff can knock on the door.

Farmers from Świętokrzyskie are complaining: the problem is not to be used
The president of the Świętokrzyska Chamber of Agriculture Mirosław Fucia warns that for small farms such losses are an impossible blow. – Farmers incurred the cost of cultivation, and instead of profit there is a loss and additional costs associated with the liquidation of crops. Fall out of the market – emphasizes.
Farmers bought the seeds of the Czech company Moravoseed through the Polish broker Pnos from Ożarów Mazowiecki. The head of the company Robert Bender claims that PNOS only distributed the seed and had no influence on its packaging. – We pass labels, but the packaging process itself takes place in the Czech Republic. We answer only as a seller – he explains.

In response to journalists' questions, Moravoseed admitted that the case is investigated and “the company regrets the situation very much”. This is not the first problem with the Czech producer – a few years ago, defective celery seeds hit the market.
Case for a court
The representative of some injured part, Anita Telega, explains that farmers can sue both the Polish distributor and the Czech producer. Independent experts already secure evidence and value damage. However, processes can last for years, and many farms are threatened with bankruptcy before their completion.
Dominik Czarny does not hide the bitterness: – We are a young farm during development. And now we are threatened with bankruptcy. This is my job, my world. If the farm falls, nobody will cry after it, but for us it all.
Helplessness of the institutions and the Ministry of Agriculture
According to unofficial information, the problem concerns 137 farmers and 700 hectares of crops. The Minister of Agriculture ordered the State Inspector for Plant Protection and Seed, but the institution does not have the competence of action outside Poland. The Ministry of Agriculture only reported that the dispute is of a civil nature and must be resolved by the courts.
– What is the Ministry of Agriculture for? If it does not work in such a situation, then in what? – asks desperate black.
Farmers announce the fight for their rights, but many of them are already afraid that they will not have the funds to sow the fields next season.
