Police in Sweden were put on alert following information about the threat of damage to the energy infrastructure in the Nordic region by a foreign country, Swedish television TV4 reported on Thursday.


According to the media, protection of critical facilities has been strengthened as part of the international operation. The threat is said to be caused by a person associated with a foreign country, and the attack would take place “in the near future.” The TV4 source did not provide a specific date or country.
The Swedish Energy Authority only confirmed that “some information has been received on this subject“The spokeswoman for the Office of Civil Defense, Anna Wennerstroem, made a similar statement, assuring us of “cooperation with the appropriate entities.” Officials referred to a warning received from the Military Radio-Reconnaissance Agency (FRA).
