Poles rated 2025 better than the previous year. CBOS reveals the latest data


More than three fifths of respondents rated 2025 as good, but only 7.9 percent found it very good. This is a slight increase compared to last year, when the total percentage of positive assessments was 1.9 percentage points lower. At the same time, the number of “good” ratings decreased (by 3.4 percentage points), and the number of “fairly good” ratings increased (by 4.9 percentage points). Negative opinions about the past year decreased by 1.8 percentage points, reaching the level of 10.3%.

The authors of the study drew attention to the long-term trend, according to which, since 2005, the majority of Poles assess the following years as good. “This period of relative prosperity coincides with Poland's membership in the European Union” – researchers note.

Work and the economy: better moods among working people
Respondents working professionally rated 2025 as a good year for their jobs in 64 percent of cases. cases, which means an increase of 5.3 percentage points. compared to last year. In particular, the ratings “very good” and “good” increased (by a total of 4.4 percentage points). At the same time, the number of people who considered the past year to be “neither good nor bad” decreased (by 6.9 percentage points), although the percentage of negative assessments increased slightly – by 0.5 percentage points. People working on private farms assess 2025 less optimistically – only 41%. of them considered the past year to be good.

Poland and the world: moderate optimism in the country, global pessimism
Opinions regarding the situation in Poland in 2025 were divided – 35.7 percent. respondents considered this year to be good, and almost the same number (35.4%) described it as “neither good nor bad”. Compared to 2024, the number of positive ratings increased (by 2 percentage points) and the number of negative ratings decreased (by 2.9 percentage points).
Respondents assessed the situation in the world much worse. More than half of the respondents (55.9%) considered 2025 to be a bad year, which, however, represents a slight decrease (by 1.4 percentage points) compared to last year. Only 12.7% gave positive ratings. respondents, and 24.4 percent considered the past year to be neutral.
“In the opinion of the respondents, 2025 is one of the seven worst years for the world in the period covered by the research, i.e. since 1986,” the authors of the report indicated. They also drew attention to the impact of global crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, on the negative mood that has persisted for several years.
The study “Current problems and events” (no. 428) was conducted between November 27 and December 8, 2025 on a representative named sample of 948 adult residents of Poland. A mixed-mode procedure was used, under which 62 percent interviews were conducted using the CAPI method, 24.8 percent the CATI method, and 13.2 percent CAWI method.
