Residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory have begun to look for tickets and travel route options noticeably more often.
Interest in business trips and summer holidays – both in Russia and abroad – has led to an increase in mobile traffic on airline websites and booking services. Compared to February last year, the volume of transferred data increased by 9%. Such conclusions were made by MegaFon analysts based on anonymized statistics.
The most noticeable increase in interest among residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was recorded among the international aggregators trip.com (+228%) and momondo.ru (+226%). At the same time, about two-thirds of all thematic traffic comes from the website of the largest Russian air carrier – it remains the leader in the share of requests among residents of the region.

Among Siberians, it was Krasnoyarsk residents who showed the greatest activity – their requests on the Internet account for 27% of the total volume of online information. Next come the Novosibirsk region and Kuzbass. Most often, tickets are searched for on Fridays, and the minimum activity is recorded in the middle of the week and on Sunday.
The growth of online activity increases the load on telecom infrastructure. To maintain stable data transfer speeds and expand network capacity, the operator refarmed the telecom infrastructure in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Last year, specialists improved the operation of about 400 base stations in urban and rural areas.
“Trip planning increasingly begins with a smartphone. Users compare destinations, track ticket prices and make purchases online. Our task is to ensure that the mobile Internet remains stable and fast precisely at those moments when decisions are made in a matter of minutes,” said Andrey Kim, director of the MegaFon regional office.
