The mayor of Krasnoyarsk instructed to take care of trees and not interfere with pedestrians when improving streets in the center

Head of Krasnoyarsk Sergey Vereshchagin told how the improvement of Surikov Street will take place. It will be repaired along with the streets of Kirov and Dictatorship of the Proletariat for the 400th anniversary of the city.

Now specialists are developing technical documentation, clarifying financing issues and types of work. According to the plans for Surikov, the pedestrian part, street furniture, lighting will be updated, the covering will be repaired and the wires will be moved underground.

Taking into account the experience of last year, when citizens complained about dug up sidewalks, the mayor outlined several mandatory requirements for contractors at all three sites.

When carrying out work, road workers must ensure pedestrian accessibility and safety for citizens – this condition will now be included in contracts. The improvement will be carried out in stages: first on one side of the street, then on the opposite.

In addition, contractors will be asked to carefully handle existing trees and shrubs. Sergei Vereshchagin also emphasized the need to synchronize work due to archaeological excavations on Surikov and the replacement of networks with the Dictatorship of the Proletariat.
