Road traffic on DN 67C – Transalpina, between the towns of Novaci and Rânca, was closed on Tuesday evening, starting at 19:00, due to the strong blizzard and extremely low visibility, the authorities announced.
In a press release, the National Road Infrastructure Administration Company (CNAIR) informs that on Tuesday at 19:00, road traffic was closed on DN 67C, between Novaci and Rânca, for all categories of vehicles! Due to the strong blizzard and extremely low visibility, the decision was made to close road traffic on this road sector.
According to CNAIR, the measure was taken because it is not possible to drive safely, but also for the safety of those on the snow removal machines.
CNAIR specifies that, if the weather conditions improve, traffic will be reopened on Wednesday morning.
A similar announcement was made by the Police Infotraffic Center, which warns that, “due to the blizzard in the high mountain area, road traffic was stopped on DN 67C, between Novaci and Rânca, until Wednesday morning, February 25, at 07:00”.
The National Meteorological Administration has issued new code yellow and code orange warnings of strong blizzard and wind intensification in several areas of the country, valid on Tuesday and Wednesday.
