Explosion on an army training ground, two soldiers were injured

An explosion followed by a fire took place on a training ground of the Romanian Army during the disposal of ammunition, two soldiers were injured and taken to the Botoșani Emergency Hospital, according to MApN.
The ministry said the incident occurred at 1:00 p.m. at a training ground belonging to the Land Forces' 33rd Technical Materials Depot.
Crews belonging to the Botoșani Fire Department went to the scene, namely three special fire trucks, two SMURD ambulances, one of which is a mobile intensive care SMURD and a SAJ ambulance, according to the MApN press release.
The soldiers received the first medical care on the spot and were transported to the Emergency County Hospital in Botoșani.
“The explosion, followed by a fire, occurred during activities to dismantle the ammunition (26 mm signal cartridges). The commander of the unit ordered an investigation into the circumstances of the incident,” the quoted source said.
