The Rostelecom company has completed a large-scale modernization of street lighting in the city of Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory. Specialists installed more than 1,600 modern automated lights on key city highways, sidewalks and squares.
The project was implemented under a municipal contract and covers areas with the most intense traffic and popular public areas. Among them are Lenin, Shchetinkina, Kalinin, Chkalov streets.
“We replaced outdated lamps with LED lamps and introduced digital control. This improved brightness, made it possible to remotely turn on and off lights depending on the level of natural light, control the operation of metering devices, and also quickly identify illegal connections to the power grid,” said Sergei Zaushitsin, director of applied projects at the Krasnoyarsk branch of Rostelecom.
The use of the latest technological solution minimizes the city's operating costs. Annual savings on electricity consumption will reach 9 million kWh.
“Modern lighting is the basis for the safety and quality of the urban environment. Thanks to modernization, the streets have become brighter, and reducing energy consumption will free up significant resources. We can further use these funds for infrastructure development to make Achinsk even more comfortable for living,” emphasized Igor Titenkov, head of the Achinsk municipal district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
