Krasnoyarsk archaeologists showed the gear they used to catch fish 10 thousand years ago

The age of the gear in the museum’s collection is from 9 to 10.5 thousand years. All of them are made of deer antler. The fishing hook is already close in appearance to modern examples, but the principle of fastening was different: instead of the usual loop, small notches-notches were used at the base, which held the rope and prevented it from slipping.

Another fishing device is a harpoon 27 centimeters long. According to the researchers, its creation required real skill.
