Jens-Frederik Nielsen emphasized that the island's authorities are always open to cooperation, including with the USA. “Let's talk, instead of throwing more or less random ideas on social media. Dialogue and cooperation require respect, and decisions about our country are made in our country,” he wrote.

“No, thank you,” he added, directly responding to Donald Trump's proposal.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen also commented on Donald Trump's idea. In a Facebook post, she said she was glad that in Denmark and Greenland “it is not insurance or wealth that determines whether you receive appropriate treatment.”

Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, in turn, reminded that Greenlanders can also benefit from treatment in Denmark. — There is no need to take special action in this regard, he emphasized in an interview with the Danish public broadcaster DR.
