In winter, small cracks, redness and peeling of the skin often appear on the back of the hand, which is popularly called pimples. They cause a feeling of tightness, itching, and when in contact with water or clothing – discomfort and even pain. Although this problem often worsens in winter due to frost and wind, some people experience it year-round.
From a medical point of view, pimples are most often a manifestation of cold dermatitis or a skin reaction to aggressive external factors, such as household chemicals. The main reason is excessive dryness of the skin, which loses its protective barrier and becomes vulnerable.
The main reasons for the appearance of chicks
The main provocateurs are frost, cold wind, dry air from heating, contact with water and detergents without gloves, sudden temperature changes.
Pimples may also appear if you have naturally dry, sensitive or dehydrated skin. The predisposition may be aggravated by hormonal changes, vitamin deficiencies, allergies or certain diseases.
How to remove chicks at home
The treatment is aimed at intensive hydration, nutrition and restoration of the skin's protective barrier.
1. Deep moisturizing with creams and ointments.
Use thick nourishing creams or pharmacy emollients with urea, ceramides, and panthenol. At night, apply richer formulations based on natural oil; you can wear cotton gloves to enhance the effect. Always use protective cream before going out into the cold.
2. Protection and gentle care
Perform all housework related to water and chemicals only with protective gloves. Wash your hands with mild, gentle soap and warm water. Dry the skin thoroughly but gently with a towel without rubbing it.

- Potato compress: grate raw potatoes on a fine grater, apply the paste to the damaged skin for 15 minutes.

5. Lifestyle correction
In addition to external care, it is worth paying attention to supporting the body from the inside.
Drink enough water, review your diet and include foods rich in vitamins A, E, omega acids, such as fish, nuts, vegetable oils, vegetables. During the heating season, use a humidifier.
