Ridley Scott is considered the father of the legendary Alien franchise, directing the original 1979 film, inspired by the success of the Star Wars production he had seen two years before.
He's also behind the film, which topped Netflix's global chart this week, 14 years after its theatrical release, according to Flix Patrol data, Collider writes.
It is about “Prometheus”, which in our country takes the 2nd place, after the Romanian comedy “Situationship: Combinations, no relationships”, the film by Letiției Roşculeţ and Matei Dima (BRomania), released in cinemas last year.
Ridley Scott's film created controversy upon its release in 2012 and enjoyed success at the box office.
It grossed over $400 million worldwide on a $130 million budget.
Some thought the film was too slow and too serious, while others thought it was ridiculous.
Who is starring in Prometheus?
It inspired a sequel, Alien: Covenant, which was met with slightly more enthusiasm but was less successful at the box office.
It is the fifth film in the Alien series and stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron.
The film is set at the end of the 21st century and focuses on the crew of the spaceship Prometheus, who travel to a distant world to find answers about the origin of humanity. But what they discover could kill them and even lead to the extinction of humanity.
In Romania, currently, the movie Prometheus is available on Neflix and Disney Plus.
