Two men were arrested on suspicion of breaking into a pawnshop in Pułtusk and stealing jewelry worth over PLN 200,000. zloty. Two other perpetrators are still wanted – informed the District Prosecutor's Office in Ostrołęka.


The spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office, Elżbieta Edyta Łukasiewicz, told PAP that the detained were residents of Wyszków, both 27 years old.
– The prosecutor's office charged them with breaking into a pawn shop and stealing jewelry worth over PLN 200,000. PLN – said the prosecutor. This offense is punishable by up to 10 years' imprisonment.
On the evening of February 10, four men drove a Mercedes to the pawn shop at Aleja Wojska Polskiego in Pułtusk. Two of them broke the shop window with a hammer and went inside. The burglars stole jewelry. The incident was witnessed by a pawn shop employee who was in the premises at the time. – Thanks to the effective action, the police managed to detain Sebastian B. and Konrad N. – said prosecutor Łukasiewicz.
The District Court in Pułtusk applied a preventive measure to both suspects in the form of pre-trial detention for a period of three months. – Actions are currently underway to apprehend the remaining two perpetrators, the spokeswoman noted.
The stolen jewelry has not yet been recovered. (PAP)
