The US Supreme Court on Friday ruled that most of the international tariffs imposed by Donald Trump are illegal. The decision was made by a six-to-three vote in the nine-member Supreme Court, which found that the president had exceeded his powers and needed “clear authorization from Congress” under the Constitution.

On the night from Friday to Saturday, Polish time, Trump responded to the Supreme Court's decision by continuing his trade policy, but based on different regulations. “I have the great honor to announce that I have just signed a decision in the Oval Office to impose a 10% tariff on all countries, which will take effect almost immediately. Thank you for your attention!” — he said via his profile on the Truth Social platform, confirming the words from the press conference.

“The law allows him to impose this fee for 150 days, although this may result in legal disputes,” reports Reuters. For tariffs to last longer than 150 days, they must be approved by Congress.

Earlier, the president of the United States criticized judges who voted against his policies. “The members of the Supreme Court who voted against our very acceptable and appropriate way of setting tariffs should be ashamed of themselves. Their decision was absurd, but the adjustment process begins now and we will do everything in our power to raise even more money than before,” Trump wrote.
