At the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant, the enterprise staff and veterans honored the memory of Viktor Kirillovich Gupalov, who led the plant from 1975 to 2005. The legendary director was born on February 20, 1936, and today he would have celebrated his 90th birthday.

A ceremonial meeting was held at the plant museum, at which his daughter Svetlana Kryzhanovskaya, friends, colleagues, and associates said warm words to Viktor Kirillovich. The meeting participants, who once worked at Krasmash together with Viktor Gupalov, shared their memories of the hero of the day.

“It’s gratifying that at the plant, the development of which my father devoted his entire working life, they take care of the memory of Viktor Kirillovich and pass on his great production heritage to the younger generations of Krasmash workers. I am deeply grateful to the administration and all the workers of the enterprise for this. As I remember from childhood, my father devoted a lot of time to Krasmash and his team, but for his loved ones he always remained the infinitely loved and caring head of the family. I’m glad that his business continues to live, and the company looks confidently into the future,” noted Svetlana Kryzhanovskaya.

After the visit to the All-Russian Children's Center, the delegation laid flowers at the memorial plaque of the director installed at the main entrance of the enterprise, as well as at the memorial complex at the burial site of Viktor Kirillovich. Let us remind you that the monument at the Badalyk cemetery was created and installed with personal donations from those who knew Viktor Gupalov, his friends and colleagues. The board was opened in September 2023 to mark the 90th anniversary of the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant.

In 1986, Viktor Kirillovich Gupalov was the first in the country to be awarded the honorary title “Honored Mechanical Engineer of the USSR.” In addition, he is an Honored Engineer of Russia, a Hero of Socialist Labor, a laureate of state awards, a holder of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, III and IV degrees, and a recipient of high state awards, including two Orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and the Order of Glory of Nations. In 2002, Viktor Gupalov became an Honorary Citizen of Krasnoyarsk.
