An important LEGO group manager is alive. The queen said goodbye to him

“With great sadness I accepted the news about the sudden death of Michael Halbye,” said Queen of Denmark Maria. “Michael Halbye was a man who had rare positive energy, extensive knowledge and strong commitment to doing good things for people outside the community. He was also my friend and many will be missing. My thoughts are with his family and close friends” – she added.
Halbye has been a member of the board of The Mary Foundation since its establishment in 2007, as stated in the press release. In this role he worked closely with Queen Maria and the Foundation's team. According to the Danish portal Berlingke, Halbye also was friends with the King of Denmark Fryderyk, with whom he conducted business when the king was still a young prince.
“We will lack Michael as a vice president, but above all as a man,” wrote in a statement the president of the group LEGO Thomas Kirk Kristiansen.
The tragic accident on the slope occurred on April 12 in the Verbier region in the Swiss Alps. The man collapsed, and then, after transporting to the hospital, died as a result of internal hemorrhage.
Halbye was also a partner in the Danish branch of the consulting company McKinsey & Company, and also sat on the authorities of the Foundation of Queen Denmark Mary (Maria). The businessman was considered a longtime friend of the Danish royal family, including King Frederick X and his wife. In 2004 he was a guest at their wedding and later on the baptisms of children.
