Pancakes are a tasty and filling delicacy for Maslenitsa, but many people forget on this holiday that they are also quite high-calorie and fatty foods. Meanwhile, you shouldn’t give up pancakes completely – just eat them correctly, as doctors advise. Let us reveal several recommendations from nutritionists.
Thus, therapist and nutritionist Elena Ustinova in an interview with RIA Novosti (18+) noted that you should choose thin pancakes that are made according to classic recipes with some kind of non-carbohydrate filling. At the same time, it is advisable to eat products in the preparation of which less fat and sugar were used.
If you love stuffed pancakes, then choose the filling recommended by Rospotrebnadzor experts (18+):
- beef, chicken, turkey;
- feta cheese;
- jam with a minimum amount of sugar;
- fresh fruits and berries.
Each traditional pancake contains about 100 kcal. And this doesn’t count the filling or oil that was used to coat it. Therefore, nutritionist Elena Livantsova is confident that one healthy adult can eat only 2 or 3 pancakes without harming their figure. But not every day, but several times a week.
