Thanks to regular deliveries, the Ukrainian army still has many French AASM/HAMMER bombs in its arsenal.

You can see how powerful this weapon is in a new recording in which the Ukrainians showed the effect hitting a facility of Russian drone operators with 500-kilogram HAMMER bombs. Russians often create such points in abandoned buildings, and they often become targets of Ukrainian fire.

The French “hammer” has been the downfall of Russians for months

AASM bombs are “smart” air-to-ground weapons adapted to operate in all weather conditions. This equipment consists of two elements mounted on the so-called a stupid bomb, without a precise targeting system – at the front there is a set that guides the bomb to the target, and at the back there is a set that increases the range of such weapons, thanks to which HAMMER can attack the enemy from a distance of over 70 km.

The “Hammer” can also be used with various types of bombs weighing from 125 to 1000 kg and hits the target with an accuracy of up to 1 meter. All these possibilities, however, come at the price of the set, which is estimated at approximately PLN 300,000. dollars, i.e. over one million zlotys.

For several years now, the production of “hammers” has been growing regularly, including: precisely because of deliveries to Kiev. Their manufacturer, Safran Electronics & Defense, announced that it produced a record number of over a thousand such systems in 2025 and plans to increase production in 2026. The Ukrainian army uses “hammers” as air support for infantry units.
