“Yes, there were exactly two times when I felt like I needed to leave him. I couldn’t be with him,” she said.
According to the artist, the first time was before the start of a full-scale war and now she can no longer remember what was the reason.
“And the second time was after my mother’s funeral. I think it was my mental state. I stopped, it seems to me, loving both him and the children. It was like my heart was torn out,” she frankly admitted.
Matvienko added that at moments she looked at her husband and it seemed to her that a stranger was in front of her. She suggested that this was due to the stress caused by the death of her mother, Ukrainian artist Nina Matvienko.
“He may also be to blame for this, because he didn’t know how to approach me, what to do. I didn’t feel support from him,” she said.
