Cristiano Bergodi received an exemplary punishment, after the scandal at the Cluj derby. His rival was not spared either

The Disciplinary Commission of the Romanian Football Federation sanctioned the coach of the Universitatea Cluj team, Cristiano Bergodi (61 years old), with a one-month suspension, and the player of the CFR Cluj team, Andrei Cordea (26 years old), for 3 matches after the incidents in which they were involved at the end of the match directly from the 26th stage of the Superliga.

CFR 1907 Cluj vs. FC Universitatea Cluj – Incidents, eliminations of Bergodi Cristiano (coach Universitatea Cluj), Cordea Andrei Ioan (player CFR 1907 Cluj) – Pursuant to art. 63.1.f, related to art. 63.2.2 of the RD, the player Cordea Andrei is sanctioned with a suspension for three matches and a sports penalty of 5,000 lei. Pursuant to art. 57.1 of the RD, coach Bergodi Cristiano is sanctioned with a suspension for one month and a sports penalty of 10,000 lei“, it is stated in the commission's solution published on Wednesday evening on the official website of the Professional Football League.

Following that game, the CFR Cluj club received a sports penalty of 15,000 lei, and the University of Cluj, 10,000 lei.

At the end of the game between CFR Cluj and Cluj University on February 7, the coach of the visiting team, Cristiano Bergodi, had a conflict with the opposing players Andrei Cordea and Karlo Muhar. Visibly nervous, the technician tried to hit the two, but being held by the members of his staff and the other players, he only managed to touch their backs and faces with his hands.

Later, Bergodi, who received the red card from referee Rareș Vidican, explained that he was allegedly cursed by Andrei Cordea during the match.

The CFR Cluj football team defeated the Universitatea Cluj team with a score of 3-2, on February 7, in a game counting for the 26th stage of the Superliga.
