Ilie Bolojan believes that he did not violate the Constitution when he displayed with Crin Antonescu: “Ilie Bolojan man has the right to option”

The interim president of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, told Prima TV on Saturday that he did not violate the Constitution when he displayed alongside the candidate supported by the governing coal for May, Crin Antonescu, and said he “kept the non-character” of each public institution.

Asked if he had somehow violated the Constitution when he was displayed with Antonescu, Bolojan replied: “I have never violated it and I have never been a hypocrite since I was in politics, for 20 years. Function and I have never confused the part of responsibilities, the institution of the presidency was not involved in the presidential campaign, and this will be done until the last moment, out of respect for the citizens of Romania, out of respect for their different options, this is a certain matter. “

He claims that he has always “sought” to tell people the “truth”, even if it does not always sound good.

“The man Ilie Bolojan has the right to the option. And then I said, and I do not hide from this matter, in these elections I will vote on Crin Antonescu, but I did not campaign for this, I have not demolished the other candidates and I think I can say as a citizen, as everyone has rights, that I have a man, I have a man, The President of Romania must collaborate with a parliamentary majority.

Bolojan believes that to tell his point of view is “a form of respect” towards those who trust him.

“After all, we are different people, with different options, but one is to have a personal position and the other is to put an institution in the campaign and to confuse things, which I did not do,” added the interim president of Romania.

When it was taken into account that his exhortation to vote on Crin Antonescu was cut out of the interview and used by the campaign team of the candidate as an electoral spot, Bolojan said: “I do not see a problem as long as it is marked with an electoral character. At the same time, in the campaign, if you see, each candidate has been with the other years, for three years, for three years, for three years, issues (…).

Ilie Bolojan took over the PNL leadership after the weak result that Nicolae Ciucă obtained in the first round of the presidential elections of November 24, 2024. In February, Bolojan gave up the position in the party and, as president of the Senate, went to Cotroceni to ensure the interim position of president of Romania, after Klaus Iohannis.

PNL supports the May 2025 presidential elections on Crin Antonescu, the common candidate of the coalition made up of liberals, PSD and UDMR.

Ilie Bolojan and Crin Antonescu participated in the festivities organized in Oradea on Monday to mark the 106th anniversary of the establishment of the Romanian Administration. The interim president of Romania was also present at the launch event of the presidential program of the Coalition candidate.

Recently asked by ebihoreanul.ro what message sends people to convince them to vote in the elections of 4 and 18 May, Ilie Bolojan said: “From my point of view, this right I have won must be used by every responsible citizen, and my urge is to go voting how I dictate them. My voters, for people who trust me, know how I vote and say it now: I will vote Crin Antonescu president.
