Krasnoyarsk residents were warned about interference on TV due to solar activity

17 February 15:37

Residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory may experience short-term interruptions in television and radio signals in the coming weeks. According to RTRS, seasonal solar interference is expected in the region from February 18 to March 12.

During this period, the Sun will line up once a day with a communications satellite and a ground-based relay. This causes solar radiation to mix with the signal, which can cause interference.

Broadcasts of the channels RTRS-1, RTRS-2, Radio Russia, Vesti FM and Mayak in the interval from 12:37 to 13:45 are affected.

Modern equipment successfully suppresses such failures, but with outdated equipment or in difficult reception conditions, interference is possible. The interference lasts no more than five minutes a day.
