The president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, said on Monday that “in a few days a variant will be presented” for the reduction of certain local taxes.

Grindeanu said, on Monday evening, on Romania TV, that in this sense “there is a work option supported by everyone”.

“You know, those exceptions were removed, for example, on the age of the houses. An exception was given, if it was a 100-year-old house, then you had a 50% discount, if it was 50 years old, you had 30%, etc. Those exceptions were eliminated. From our point of view, or that of the UDMR, because they proposed and we supported, these things must return and will be presented. So, yes, there are good chances that these local taxes will be reduced”, said the PSD leader.

Asked about taxing people with disabilities, he said: “We have a proposal supported by us and the UDMR that the first house, a house, the homestead should have a 50% deduction. The same with cars.”

“At the European level there is a concern that should also be ours and there is a policy at the European level, even of the European Commission, related to housing. And this concern leads to public policies that encourage this. It seems that we have not yet reached this public policy, on the contrary, but the UDMR proposal is welcome”, Sorin Grindeanu also declared.
