In Krasnoyarsk, at the Central Stadium, a meeting between test cosmonaut Kirill Peskov and students of the Olympic Reserve College took place.

The regional Ministry of Sports said that the conversation between the cosmonaut and the students turned out to be fascinating and lasted almost an hour. The guys asked the guest what requirements are imposed on future cosmonauts, how long it takes to recover after a flight. The topic of sports was also raised, since physical education is an integral part of astronaut training.

Kirill Peskov spoke about the standards that cosmonaut candidates pass. The test includes, but is not limited to, running, swimming, long jump, diving, trampoline, and pull-ups. He noted that to become an astronaut, you don’t have to be a champion. Comprehensive physical development is important.

“After the meeting, the guest played curling for the first time; representatives of the Siberian Curling Academy introduced him to this sport. The astronaut also tried his hand at a more dynamic pickleball, combining elements of badminton, lawn tennis and table tennis.” – the ministry added.

Let us note that the meeting with Kirill Peskov took place on the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland, which is celebrated annually in Russia on December 9. Students of the Krasnoyarsk Olympic Reserve College were exclusively shown a television version of the play “I Love and Believe.” The production was created for the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War by the Russian Theater on the Water, whose artistic director is three-time Olympic champion Maria Kiseleva.
