The mayor called on Krasnoyarsk residents to report dangerous icicles and snow caps

16 February 16:29

In connection with warming in Krasnoyarsk, control over icicles and snow “caps” on buildings is being strengthened.

As the mayor said, about 500 houses in the city have an increased risk of the formation of snow and ice build-ups hanging over their heads. Such buildings must be under special supervision.

Sergei Vereshchagin noted that during the thaw the problem of uncleaned roofs worsens. And there are already several examples of this, including tragic ones, in other cities of Russia.

“Removing snow and icicles from roofs and balconies, and resolving related safety issues are the direct responsibility of management companies, homeowners associations and owners. I instructed the services to strengthen interaction with them, promptly monitor the work being carried out and appeals from citizens. Separately, I set the task of inspecting social facilities. I ask residents to also be careful. If you see the danger of such snow and ice falling, or your management company does not respond, then call 005. All chat messages are also monitored by the services,” the head of the city wrote on his social networks.
