Weeding, weed fighting and eternal dirt in rows are familiar problems for those who grow strawberries. But there is a way that will relieve these troubles. It's about landing on a black film.
The method is not new, but its potential is not fully disclosed:
That's what you need to do
Prepare the bed in advance (add humus and loosen the soil). Spread the black film, fixing the edges, and make cross -shaped incisions for seedlings. Put the strawberries into the holes, pour and mulch. The film will retain moisture, will not allow weeds to sprout and accelerate the maturation of the berries.
Three non -obvious advice
First – Choose a film with a density of at least 60 g/m². Thin quickly breaks and does not protect against perennial weeds.
Second – Before laying, lay drip irrigation. So moisture will be distributed evenly, and the roots will not dry out.
Third – Plant the strawberries in a checkerboard pattern. This will save space and improve the light of the bushes.
The black film not only eliminates the weeding, but also simulates the growth of strawberries by reflecting color and heating in the sun.
