The Krasnoyarsk administration held a meeting of the city commission for emergency prevention and response, dedicated to the upcoming flood season.

Forecasters said that the average air temperature in the city for November-December 2025 was 1.4 above normal °Cand in January 2026 – lower by 4.7 °C. There was more snow compared to last year. Its amount is distributed unevenly throughout the territory and surroundings of Krasnoyarsk, while snow accumulation continues. According to the long-term forecast, in March the air temperature will be 1-2 °C above long-term average values. Experts will make the main forecast for spring floods in early April.
The mayor's office noted that this year the task is to ensure the safe passage of the snowmelt period throughout the entire greater Krasnoyarsk. In case of need for evacuation measures, maneuverable housing stock will be prepared.
“We expect serious flooding. All heads of district administrations and heads of newly annexed territories need to create a list of points of possible flooding. It is required to make an application for the necessary equipment and materials. SATP and DRSP were instructed to inspect the territories within a week and give an opinion on where preparatory work needs to be carried out,” said First Deputy Head of the city Alexander Matsak.
Now specialists are examining under-bridge areas and culverts on the Bugach, Kacha and Panikovka rivers, as well as hydraulic structures. During the flood period, water-measuring posts will be organized for daily monitoring.
