A recording appeared on the network where the head of the Chernivtsi regional council, Oleksiy Boyko, disparagingly comments on the award from the President to the famous doctor and volunteer Olga Kobevko.
“What did she do to be given a “medal”… a letter from the President? It's not done that way!” he said at the meeting.
Olga Kobevko is a doctor, volunteer, deputy of the regional council. Since 2014, she has been helping the front, and since 2024 she has been mobilized to the Armed Forces. Now he serves in a military hospital in the Kharkiv region, saving the lives of wounded soldiers.
For her dedicated work, President Zelenskyy awarded her with the “For the Defense of Ukraine” medal.
But, apparently, Mr. Boyko believes that the President should have asked his permission first.
People's Deputy of Ukraine Serhiy Rudyk reacted to the incident:
“I have questions only for the deputies of the regional council. This is your boss, you voted for him, and you work with him. You have to decide whether you are people or sheep. If not, ask for his resignation at the next session. The choice is yours.”
We will remind you that in 2025, not a single session of the Chernivtsi Regional Council took place, despite two attempts by Oleksiy Boyk to convene it. The reason is the lack of a quorum, because 3 factions of the regional council (“Fatherland”, “Servant of the People”, “People's Control”) are demanding the resignation of the chairman of the regional council due to his systematic violation of the regulations, his superior attitude towards deputies, the creation of a coalition with the pro-Russian party OPZZH, and a biased attitude towards the heads of communal institutions who are deputies not from his party (the Agrarian Party).
