President Karol Nawrocki assured on Sunday that he has no financial relations with the clothing brand whose T-shirt he wore during the games in Italy. As he emphasized, he will carry Polish brands, but without marketing connections.

On Sunday in Polsat News, Nawrocki referred to the criticism that appeared after he visited the Polish Olympic team wearing a “NowRocky” T-shirt and cap. As he emphasized, he has no financial or marketing relationships with any company. He noted that the “NowRocky” brand accompanied him during the election campaign and became its recognizable element.
“I just put on this T-shirt. If my photographer Mikołaj Bujak had a different one, I would probably wear another one. However, I borrowed a T-shirt and a cap from him, because he had the same one and I had official clothes. If it was a different brand, but Polish, I would wear another one. I put this one on,” said the president.
He emphasized that, as the head of state, he uses various Polish products, including watches and clothing, without deriving any financial benefits from them.
Referring to the suggestion of a possible conflict of interest, Nawrocki explained that the rights to the trademark are in the hands of his sister, but – as he pointed out – there are no financial relationships or earnings associated with it. According to him, this was to protect his image and prevent the logo from being used in contexts with which he would not like to be identified as president.
