It was such a picture that Vladimir Putin meant – wrote the New York Times on Friday, commenting on the welcome of Russian leader by US President Donald Trump in Alaska.

It was exactly the picture that Putin desired, which explains why he so willingly agreed to the idea of organizing this meeting in Alaska.
