Will PSD succeed in ousting Ilie Bolojan from the position of prime minister?

It is the main objective of the PSD in the next period. The reason? Bolojan does not take into account the “interests” of the party's political clientele, not even those of the party leaders, mayors and heads of County Councils. Ilie Bolojan “has no mother, no father”, in the leadership of the government. Either PSD is not used to such leadership of the government.

Claudiu Manda and other leaders from the PSD conveyed to Bolojan: “if you don't change (that is, take into account what we ask of you), then we will change you”!
A first phase was consumed when the PNL group, hostile to Bolojan, led by Hubert Thuma, the head of PNL-Ilfov, wanted to take him down at the recent meeting of the PNL leadership forum. He did not succeed, in fact, in the vote requested by Bolojan regarding his support, the score was 47 for and 3 against.
Two more occasions follow
It is about the GEOs regarding the reorganization of the central and local administration and the economic recovery, scheduled for next week's government meeting, then the approval of the budget for 2026, also scheduled for February.
According to the Constitution, the GEOs related to the central and local administration and the economic recovery must be signed by the prime minister and the ministers in charge of applying the GEOs.
The Ministers of Agriculture, Health, and possibly others have already announced that they will not sign the GEOs. What will Bolojan do in such situations? It cannot violate the Constitution, and the two GEOs are supposed to be precursors to the 2026 budget law, which is also based on their provisions. Will the budget law be postponed, until when?
The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, is from the PNL, and he generated the two GEOs and the budget law, without taking PSD's requests into account. Only after discussions with Bolojan's team and depending on the money provided in the budget as income.
Here is the big “bug”. When PSD asks for money for political clients, Bolojan and Nazare ask them: where to get this money? We have them hidden in the caves of the Carpathians and we don't want to take them out?
The story with the overestimated income provision, as Ciolacu and Ciucă did, no longer works. Bolojan and Nazare are realistic, they don't rely on “exotic dreams” in relation to budget revenues!
In addition, the attitude of the rating agencies and creditors towards our country also depends on the seriousness and sustainability of the budget. Which clarified during the Ciucă and Ciolacu period what fiscal-budgetary ideas were going through the heads of the two prime ministers.
In essence and in round numbers, Romania's GDP in 2026 would be about 400 billion euros, the state budget 133 billion euros, interest and installments on loans approximately 40-50 billion, so that approximately 83 billion euros remain to be distributed to the credit authorities. If the budget comes out of this scheme, it is not serious!
What can PSD do in this situation, to change Bolojan?
To compel his ministers not to sign the two GEOs expected to be approved in next week's government meeting. What will Bolojan do in this situation? It is possible and probable that he would resign, because the coalition no longer works. The intervention of the president Nicușor Dan is also to be anticipated, it is not known with what results. If he does not resign, the PSD should appeal to the AUR for a motion of censure, which does not suit him, because the AUR is not frequentable in the EU.
The same thing with the budget law. Probably, Minister Nazare will not take into account PSD's requests, to give more money to the red barons from his political clientele, and then all they have to do is sign the censure motion initiated by AUR.
Another is the very serious problem
The EU and creditors trust only the government team led by Bolojan, no one else, let alone the PSD and even the PNL. If Bolojan leaves, through resignation or motion of censure, goodbye money borrowed from the EU, goodbye money for pensions and budget salaries.
Chaos would ensue, which I don't see how any other government team could manage. Even a government led by Cătălin Predoiu, for example, does not present guarantees for creditors and the EU that it would keep the budget in check and that it would reduce the budget deficit to 3%.
Is PSD aware of the chaos that would be created by Bolojan's departure? Where can another government get money from, to satisfy the political clientele, to have money for pensions and salaries, for investments and for interest rates and loans? From where?
We can only hope that the leaders of the PSD will make their calculations right, because if they cause chaos, even the waters of the Danube will not wash away this guilt!
