US economic agreement with China. Donald Trump reveals plans

“I am pleased to inform you that the finance minister Scott Bessent, minister of trade Howard Lutnick and a representative of the United States for trade, Ambassador Jamieson Greer, will meet in London on Monday, June 9, 2025 with China representatives on the trade agreement. The meeting should be very good,” Trump said on the Truth Social social network.
Meeting of the delegation – the second after a similar meeting in Geneva on May 12 – is the result of the resolutions of Trump's Thursday conversation with the chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping. The conversation was dedicated mainly to commercial matters. Trump previously accused China's violation of the provisions of the temporary “truce” in the trade war in connection with maintaining restrictions in the export of rare lands by China. According to the USA, apart from the mutual reduction of customs duties (from 145 to 35 percent for goods from China and 125 to 10 percent per US, China was to relax their restrictions.
Donald Trump about a conversation with XI Jinping. “Complicated issues”
The US president said on Thursday that all “complicated issues” were clarified during a conversation with the 11th, including the issue of minerals needed to produce electronics used in a wide range of industries and industry.
On Friday, the New York Times and Reuters said that the Chinese Ministry of Trade resumed the granting of the export license for some of these materials and magnets for suppliers of the “large three” producers of Detroit car (Ford, GM, Stellantis), which were particularly affected by Chinese restrictions. Export restrictions were introduced in April in response to the US introduction by additional duties to Chinese goods. According to “NYT”, a larger number of permits issued in recent days has still not been enough to meet the needs of the American and European industry.
