On the American YouTube channel about floriculture, Great Garden, they told how and what to feed orchids so that they can form new flower stalks.
The author of the video shared a simple recipe for organic fertilizer that can be prepared at home from potato peelings. He noted that thanks to such feeding, the orchid will have stronger roots, new leaves will appear and flower stalks will form.
Preparing fertilizer
- Peel the potatoes.
- Place the peel in a blender, add about 500 ml of room temperature water and blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture.
- Add another 500 ml of water.
Pour the solution into a clean container, dampen a soft cloth or cotton pad and gently wipe the orchid leaves on both sides. This removes dust, improves photosynthesis and supplies the leaves with natural nutrients. The procedure can be performed twice a week.
