Speaking at the place of missile attack on a residential building in Bat Yam, Netanyahu denounced “the premeditated killing of civilians, women and children” and stresses that Iran is an “existential threat” for Israel.
“Our hearts are with families,” he said, urging the population to respect the safety instructions of the officials.
Netanyahu again warned of the danger that Tehran would obtain nuclear weapons.
“We are here because we carry an existential campaign, obviously today for all the citizens of Israel. Imagine what could happen if Iran had atomic weapons to launch on Israeli cities and what if Iran had 20,000 such rockets.” Netanyahu said in a video message in Bat Yam.
“Iran will pay a very high price for the deliberate killing of our citizens, women and children. We will also reach our goals and hit them. They will feel the power of our arm.” he added.
Iran president Masoud Pezeshkian has in turn threatened with a “decisive and severe” response if Israel continues his “hostile actions” towards Tehran, according to the News Republic News Agency, the official Iranian news agency.
At the same time, the Iranian Foreign Minister said his country has the right to defend itself – and that Israel must cease the attacks so that Iran will stop.
The paramedic or Lazarovich reported for the BBC that he reached the blocks destroyed around 03:00.
While coordinating a team of doctors and rescuers on the street, he says he saw about 100 people leaving the building.
“We started to make people's triage, while the building was still burning on a portion,” he says.
“Some were crying, and others were holding their family members in their arms, I saw fear in their eyes,” says Lazarovich. “People came out with dirty faces, covered with soot, ash and scraps and barely breathing because of the inhalation of smoke.”
The victims include a 10 -year -old boy and an eight -year -old girl. Visiting Bat Yam, the Israeli Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, said that Israel would continue the military campaign, promising that it would kneel those who attack the country.
