There is an ongoing collective dispute at Biedronka. Negotiations begin on 10 demands


At the end of January, Biedronka “Solidarity”, operating in the chain of stores, submitted a list of 10 demands to the management board. They mainly concern increasing wages, paying bonuses and improving working conditions, but also trade union activities. The most important demand is to increase the basic wages of all employees by PLN 1,000. PLN gross. “A beginner cashier's rate is PLN 4,850 gross, i.e. close to the minimum wage. This rate is inadequate for this job,” emphasizes Gabriela Kaim, president of “Solidarity” in the Biedronka chain, in the union's announcement.

10 demands of Biedronka employees
Negotiations regarding the collective dispute are scheduled to start on Thursday, February 12 at 15 at the Dialog Social Partnership Center in Warsaw. There will be a press briefing an hour earlier. According to the leader of “Solidarity”, the talks may be difficult, including: because the network's management may not allow some people to participate in the negotiations.
“From the very beginning, the employer wants to limit the number of people who will be able to participate in our conversations. We are supposed to talk about issues that are very important to over 85,000 people. Biedronka employees, which is why we want this meeting to be attended by, among others, trade union lawyer and experts. If the employer does not let them in for talks, it will be a signal that the management is not willing to conduct a real dialogue with employees” – says Gabriela Kaim, quoted by Dla Handlu.

“Solidarity” has 10 demands. Postulates:
- increasing the basic salaries of all employees of Jeronimo Martins Polska by PLN 1,000. PLN gross per month from February 1, 2026,
- introducing a reward for attendance at work for store managers and their deputies in the amount of PLN 500 gross per month,
- introduction of a monthly bonus for meat counter employees in the amount of PLN 500 gross from February 1, 2026,
- introduction of monthly settlement periods for working time, in accordance with the Labor Code,
- increasing the staffing of Biedronka stores so that tasks can be carried out during normal working hours,
- introduction of a permanent staff of self-service checkouts,
- organization of work without opening stores after 10 p.m.,
- introduction of a breakfast/lunch voucher for shift workers worth PLN 200 per month,
- introduction of clear pay slips, enabling clear identification of remuneration components,
- providing trade unions with the right to place information on information boards in stores, distribution centers and other company plants.
