Poles assessed the government's activities after the outbreak of the scandal regarding the issue of KPO funds


In the SW Research survey for Onet, the question was asked: “Do you consider government actions in the so -called KPO scandal?”. Only 17.3 percent respondents replied that “yes”. Most, because 38 percent people found the government's actions insufficient. Another 21.2 percent respondents chose the answer “difficult to say/I have no opinion”. The remaining 23.5 percent stated that he did not know these activities.
On Thursday, the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz announced that there would be no consequences for the deputy ministers in connection with the spending of funds for the Horeca sector (hotel and catering industry) from KPO.
– Two or three months ago I began to receive signals from entrepreneurs that they reported various irregularities and nothing is happening. The scandal around the KPO expenditure
At the end of last week, Platform X users began to post examples of companies from the HoReCa industry that received subsidies from KPO, including for yachts, saunas, solariums, replacement of furniture or the purchase of a virtual shooting range. The data came from the KPO website, where maps with companies that received subsidies from the program were posted. The HoReCa sector aroused the greatest controversy. The case caused a stir on the web, and Internet users searched for further bizarre examples. The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw reported that she had taken checking activities. – Where this expenditure was unjustified, he will expect a quick decision, including collecting funds. The first recruitment as part of KPO support for the Horeca industry started in May 2024 and was originally to last until June 5 last year, but was extended. The second started on July 18 last year. And he was also extended many times. Ultimately, it lasted until the end of October 2024. According to PARP data, 3005 contracts with entrepreneurs (each contract with a different company) were signed as part of HoRP data from KPO funds. As at the end of July, entrepreneurs were paid PLN 110 million from the total support amount PLN 1.24 billion.
