The first reaction of the one who completed the purchase of Carrefour – the daughter of one of the Pavăl brothers, owners of Dedeman

The acquisition of Carrefour Romania by Pavăl Holding – the investment vehicle controlled by the Pavăl family, which also owns Dedeman and recently acquired the Practiker network, was completed by the daughter of Dragoş Pavăl, one of the founders of Dedeman, who is also the vice-president of Pavăl Holding.

Karina Pavăl (33 years old) studied in London, first at Queen Mary University of London and then at the University of Cambridge, where she graduated with a master's degree in finance and real estate. After completing his studies, he returned to Romania to get involved in the family business.
Karina Pavăl is the heir to the empire built by the brothers Dragoş and Adrian Pavăl, but also to 30% of the Tei group of companies, which includes both the Farmacia Tei retail chain and the Bebe Tei children's store retailer.
The law firm KPMG Legal – Toncescu si Asociații, together with the KPMG Tax and Advisory teams from Romania, is assisting Pavăl Holding in the exclusive negotiations regarding the acquisition of Carrefour operations in Romania.
The transaction represents one of the most important transactions in the retail sector in Romania in recent years and marks the entry of Pavăl Holding (sole shareholder Dedeman) into food retail. Carrefour Romania operates a multi-format network of 478 stores nationwide, including hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience stores and discount units, generating gross sales of approximately 3.2 billion euros in 2024.
