Law enforcement officers are investigating a possible scheme to evade mobilization at the Main Hospital of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

“As a result of joint activities, a high-ranking official of the center for organizing the security and defense of facilities was detained [Главного военного клинического госпиталя ВСУ]”, the message says.

According to the investigation, the suspect allegedly recruited acquaintances and other citizens of military age who did not actually show up for work and did not perform official duties.

“According to the case materials, among his clients were citizens of military age who were evading mobilization. After enlisting in the defense department, these persons were fictitiously registered for military service. At the same time, the salary cards of the “workers” were in the possession of the defendant, who withdrew money from there,” the SBU reported.

The investigation notes that such activities, according to available data, could bring in more than UAH 2.6 million from May 2022. During the searches, money and documents were seized, which law enforcement considered evidence.

The official was informed of suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (probable misappropriation of property through abuse of official position on a large scale). A preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen for him.

Suspicion was also announced to two persons who allegedly used the services of the official.

“Their actions are qualified as evasion from military service by self-mutilation or other means, committed under martial law,” the intelligence service added.
