Ingredients:
- Milk – 500 ml.
- Wheat flour – 1 kg.
- Dry yeast – 11 g.
- Chicken egg – 2 pieces
- Butter – 200 g.
- Sugar – 150 g.
- Salt – 1 teaspoon
Cooking instructions:
- Heat the milk to a temperature of about 35-40 degrees (it should be warm, but not hot).
- Add 1 tablespoon of sugar and dry yeast to warm milk, mix well.
- Leave the mixture for 10-15 minutes in a warm place so that the yeast is activated and foam begins to form.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the wheat flour, remaining sugar and salt.
- Pour in the yeast mixture.
- Add 2 eggs and melted butter.
- Mix all the ingredients well, then start kneading the dough with your hands until it becomes smooth and elastic. If necessary, add a little flour to prevent the dough from sticking to your hands.
- Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl.
- Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel or cling film and leave the dough to rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours until it has doubled in size.
- Punch down the risen dough to remove excess air and turn it out onto a lightly floured work surface.
- Divide the dough into equal parts and form them into buns of the desired size.
- Place the buns on a baking sheet, leaving enough space between them.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Before baking, brush the buns with beaten egg to obtain a golden crust.
- Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Innings:
- Remove the finished buns from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
- Serve warm or completely cool.
Bon appetit!
