Nearly 6 million tons of liquefied gas were brought to the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście by sea in 2025, i.e. 30 percent more than a year earlier – Orlen said in a press release.

“2025 was a record year for the LNG segment in Poland. The Orlen Group received 81 deliveries of liquefied natural gas at the Terminal in Świnoujście – as many as 20 more than the year before. The total volume of the raw material imported by sea was almost 6 million tons of LNG and was 30 percent higher than last year,” the release said.
As explained, the increase in the number of LNG deliveries to Świnoujście was possible thanks to the expansion of the terminal completed at the end of 2024. Its capacity increased to 8.3 billion cubic meters. annually from 6.2 billion cubic meters.
“Despite such a large increase in the terminal's regasification capacity, their utilization remained at almost 100 percent. Thus, the gas port in Świnoujście had the highest utilization rate among all European terminals,” it was further written.
As mentioned by the company, most LNG deliveries to Świnoujście were made from the United States – in 2025 there were 62 loads. Qatar was responsible for 17 shipments, with individual deliveries coming from Trinidad and Tobago and Senegal. Most deliveries are made on the basis of long-term contracts, supplemented by purchases on the spot market, accounting for over one third of the LNG volume delivered in 2025.
“This approach increases flexibility and reduces supply-side risks on the global LNG market. In addition to almost full use of domestic regasification capacity, last year LNG supplied by Orlen also reached destinations from Japan, Turkey, Great Britain and Egypt for the first time,” the release explained.
Orlen pointed out that the role of its own fleet of gas carriers in transporting LNG to the country has also increased significantly. In 2025, the units handled 12 deliveries to Świnoujście with a total volume of approx. 782 thousand. tons of LNG, compared to two deliveries and approx. 140 thousand tons of liquefied gas a year earlier.
“Orlen's LNG import capabilities will also increase with the completion of the construction of the second Polish gas port – the floating FSRU terminal in the Bay of Gdańsk. The Orlen Group has reserved full regasification capacity there at the level of 6.1 billion cubic meters per year. After launching the FSRU, the total capacity of the domestic LNG infrastructure will increase to approximately 14 billion cubic meters per year, strengthening Poland's energy security and Orlen's position in the region,” it concluded. in information.
