Hundreds of teenagers from Sibiu participated on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Balul Balurilor, a controversial private event, organized for students from 7 Sibiu high schools, a party that the schools and the school inspectorate had disowned since the previous edition.

On Saturday, manele singer Lele and trapper Albert NBN took to the stage, the latter known for vulgar, violent and derogatory lyrics towards women. Psychologist Mihai Copăceanu was also present at the party, who attended the miss and mystery contests and the first concert of the event, that of the manele singer. He saw children who gave hundreds of lei for dedications, who staggered from alcohol and who sang vulgarities in chorus.

“I went there as a simple psychologist interested in teenagers' free time”, Mihai Copăceanu told us.

What he saw led to a series of conclusions that target not only the students, but also their parents. We reproduce below, with the author's permission, the message he posted on Facebook related to his experience:

This is the satisfaction and goal of every parent. But it seems like I didn't like it at the ball.
