Ciprian Ciucu, about Daniel Băluță: “Probably he is frustrated”. The mayor of District 4: “A man without character”

The series of jabs between the two leaders of the governing parties continued on Saturday, after an interview of the mayor general, in which he also mentioned the relationship he has with the PSD and a remark related to the mayor of sector 4, which disturbed Daniel Băluță.
The general mayor, Ciprian Ciucu, commented, on Saturday, in an interview for Prima News, the relationship he has with the social democrats in the General Council of Bucharest, suggesting that they are playing a double game.
“One thing you agree with them at the table and another you see in the evening on TV. One way they behave in the coalition, at the table, and another way they behave in the public space”, said Ciucu, when asked if the PSD is facing opposition from within the government, according to News.ro.
The first vice-president of the PNL was also asked what relationship he now has with the PSD.
“It seemed normal to me to respect those from the PSD, because we are part of the governing coalition after all. It seemed normal to me to respect them in the General Council. That's why immediately after I was elected, I gave all the powers, as I already had before coming to the mayor's office, to the deputy mayor of the PSD. I started discussions with them that, even if at an exploratory level, they turned against me in the mass media and they voted against, including for things they had no no argument to vote against just to show his muscles. So I'm trying to keep the relationship afloat in the hope that they will want to collaborate for the good of the Bucharest people. That's why I made statements like the one that Daniel Băluţă made. I said, ok, let's give him another chance, the man is coming after some elections in which he lost, and I said let's behave with gloves what we would have done”, explained the mayor of the capital.
He explained that it is in the interest of the mayor to secure a majority.
“If I don't have a majority, it will be difficult to govern a city without a majority, because it will block absolutely everything, including projects with a small impact. For example, we proposed to close four institutions that only consume, they don't do anything, they consume”, said Ciucu, recalling the first meeting of the CGMB, in which many of the mayor's proposals were rejected by the PSD-PUSL majority.
He stated that the PSD can block his mandate, but that this seems very cynical to him.
What Daniel Baluta says
Shortly after Ciucu's interview with Prima News, Daniel Băluță conveyed, through a press release, that Ciucu “moved to another level… that of conspiracy”, accusing him of being “an amateur without solutions” who “misled” the people of Bucharest.
The mayor of Sector 4 accused Ciucu, after the accusations launched against the social democrats in the General Council, of being “easy”, even though he is the leader of the PNL.
“Frustrated by the complete lack of solutions, suffocated by tears and sobs, Mr. Ciucu thought it was good to go to bullying. Like any self-respecting user, he points the finger (because he proves otherwise that he is not able to do) to the PSD, the party with which he won the elections in District 6 and with which he has a political majority in District 6,” Băluță also said, in the PSD Bucharest press release.
The mayor of District 4 claimed that he would not comment on the “defamatory” statements against him, but specified that they are “characteristic statements of a weak and characterless man”.
“For today's “performance”, I can only tell you this, Mr. Ciucu: you are a man without character!” said Băluță, who urged him to get to work “once and for all”.
“Put aside the excuses, ask for help for serious things and be convinced that you will get it! Neither politics nor your crocodile tears circulate through the pipes. You have the makings of a baron, Mr. Ciucu! And not just any baron. Baron Münchhausen!”, the PSD Bucharest leader also declared.
