Archaeological discoveries made during the construction of the metro continue in Krasnoyarsk. Representatives of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Krasnoyarsk Administration showed artifacts found in the area of the future station Central Park».

Archaeologist Yuri Grevtsov said that excavations were carried out in the area of the street. Dictatorship of the Proletariat. It was possible to find objects from the Neolithic period (5 thousand years BC) and medieval arrowheads, as well as a Scythian knife.

“We were excavating in the area of the street. Dictatorship of the Proletariat. Until 1830, it was called Padalkin Lane and was considered the outskirts of Krasnoyarsk. A graveyard was planned behind it. The first sanitary standards were introduced during the time of Catherine II, according to which cemeteries should be located outside the city. Many coins from that period were found on the site, but the most important find was a manor from the 19th and 20th centuries. It has well-preserved walls (at the level of the lower crowns of the log house), part of the floors and basement. We discovered the estate using mortgaged coins. There was such a tradition: under the first crown, coins were placed on the supporting pillars for good luck and wealth in the house. They are often preserved and give us a clear dating of when the object was built,” said Yuri Grevtsov.

Judging by the mortgage coins, the estate was built in the 1830s. She was considered rich. The craftsmen, knowing that groundwater flowed nearby, strengthened the foundation. They dug a pit and filled it with red clay from Pokrovskaya Mountain, after which they compacted the resulting dam»which became the foundation and walls of the future basement.

Representatives of the department were able to find out whose estate stood in this place. They promise to tell about its owners later.
