Ilie Lemnaru, the president of Unirea Slobozia club, spoke about the parting with coaches Andrei Prepelita and Jean Vlădoiu.

After recording 13 defeats in the last 14 matches, the group from Ialomi reached the 14th place in the SuperLiga ranking, and the management decided that a change was needed, Claudiu Niculescu was to be installed on the technical bench.

“We agreed with Niculescu, tomorrow (not Thursday) he has to come. It was a decision we didn't want to make. In 14 stages we won only one match. We had to change something. It's everyone's fault, from the management to the coaches to the players.

I told them that I haven't produced anything since September. We have to accept the situation. Now I think Niculescu is the best decision. This decision was made last night (Tuesday) after the match with Petrolul (0-1). We will do everything we can to achieve our goals. I wanted Prepelita, we wanted him to get results.

We looked at what was on the market. There are coaches who have a higher quota and we cannot afford to talk to them, we decided to find a coach who can adapt to our style. He looks like Adi Mihalcea, that mattered a lot. He had results where he was, at Voluntari, at Şelimbăr. He was at Dinamo, he has experience.

I wish Prepelita to have results, I thank him and Jean Vlădoiu. I hope he finds his team as soon as possible. I did things at the beginning that no one thought were possible”, said Ilie Lemnaru, according to digisport.ro.

For Unirea Slobozia, the match with Farul Constanța follows. The match in the 26th stage is scheduled for February 7, from 13:00.
