Swimming coach from CS Câmpina, accused of sexual assault on a 12-year-old girl. The police are questioning him
A man is being investigated by Prague investigators for sexual assault on a minor, judicial sources stated, on Thursday, for the Agerpres agency, that the person targeted by the accusations is a swimming coach from the Câmpina Sports Club (CS).
On Thursday, in this case, the police executed a home search warrant in Scorţeni commune, at the address of the person suspected of committing the acts, the Prahova County Police Inspectorate reported.
“Investigations were started on May 15, 2026, as a result of a complaint made by a woman from the municipality of Câmpina, regarding the fact that her daughter, a 12-year-old minor, was sexually assaulted by a 42-year-old man, during some sports training activities,” says the IJP.
The man in question is a swimming coach at the Câmpina Sports Club, judicial sources told Agerpres.
According to them, he would have sexually assaulted the minor several times over the course of a year.
“Following the activities carried out, the person suspected of committing the act was identified and taken to the headquarters of the police unit for questioning. Currently, the investigations are being continued by the police, under the coordination of the competent prosecutor's office, in order to establish the entire criminal activity and order the necessary legal measures”, IJP Prahova also transmitted.
The mayor of Câmpina demands the coach's resignation
The mayor of Câmpina, Irina-Mihaela Nistor, demands that the coach targeted by these accusations resign immediately.
“I convey very clearly that I strongly disapprove and condemn any form of abusive, inappropriate behavior or that can affect the physical or emotional integrity of children. The safety of minors must be an absolute priority for any institution that carries out educational or sports activities. I was informed about the existence of suspicions related to the inappropriate behavior of a teacher from the Campina Sports Club. (…) Considering the seriousness of the accusations and the need to protect the image of the Sports Club Câmpina, as well as a climate of trust for children and parents, publicly request the targeted coach to resign immediately. Until the investigation is completed, I believe that he must withdraw from any activity that involves interaction with minors”, says a press release signed by the mayor and posted on the Câmpina City Hall's Facebook page.
