The Ministry of Ecology inspected the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-2 during the NMU period

5 February 14:06
Inspectors from the Ministry of Ecology of the region checked the operation of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-2 in the NMU mode. The event was held within the framework of an agreement between the Siberian Generating Company and the regional Ministry of Environment.
In accordance with it, department inspectors can freely visit the company’s enterprises to check the implementation of the approved list of measures to reduce the burden on the environment during the NMU regime. Additional control within the boundaries of the sanitary protection zone during this period is carried out by a mobile environmental laboratory.
The first object of inspection at the industrial site of CHPP-2 was the automated emissions monitoring system. Its sensors are installed at an altitude of 85 meters and continuously monitor the concentrations of five main substances: nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and particulate matter (dust). At the same time, gas parameters are recorded. All data is broadcast in real time to the SGC website. Rosprirodnadzor specialists confirmed the correct operation of the equipment and the reliability of the information received.
During the visit, inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology also visited the main control panel of the station, where they became familiar with the process of promptly informing personnel about the introduction of the NMU regime and monitoring the implementation of environmental measures. During the NMU period, tests and repair work to clean equipment are suspended at CHPP-2, and the operating mode of the boilers is under special control.
“During the NMU period, power engineers bear a great responsibility,” noted Ivan Kakorin, director of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-2. — The stations are switching to a special operating mode. We are implementing a set of measures to reduce the burden on the environment, but at the same time the thermal power plant continues to operate in accordance with the approved temperature schedule. In cold weather, the load increases, the equipment generates more heat, which is necessary to ensure comfort in the homes of Krasnoyarsk residents.”
“Frosty weather has set in in Krasnoyarsk, and all the station’s equipment is operating at maximum load. At the same time, the parameters of emissions from the pipes are below the established standards,” emphasized First Deputy Minister of Ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Yulia Gumenyuk.
Please note that entry for inspectors during the NMU period is open to all SGC enterprises. Previously, a similar check was carried out at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1. The data showed that the station complies with all environmental requirements, and emissions are up to five times lower than permissible values.

Since 2018, SGK has been an active participant in the federal project “Clean Air” and the national project “Ecological Well-Being”. During this time, the company implemented a large-scale set of environmental measures. At Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1, environmental modernization is being completed: a new 275-meter chimney has been erected, highly efficient electric precipitators have been installed, and new boilers have been launched.
In Krasnoyarsk, 37 non-ecological boiler houses were replaced, and 640 private households were switched to electric heating, which made it possible to reduce atmospheric emissions by 2 thousand tons per year. In addition, the company is developing a network of electric charging stations: 82 installations are already operating in the regional capital and another one is in Divnogorsk.
